I've been TAGGED!

This is a little game called TAG! It's a cool way to feature etsy shops and make some blogging friends! This is how it works:
I have to give up 6 tidbits of information about myself, and then name 3 unwitting bloggers to do the same. ok, here goes:

1. I was a punk rocker back in my teenage years. Yes, the short spiky hair, every color of the rainbow, changed weekly. My parents LOVED it! hehe..

2. I had my daughter TeeJay early in life, I was 19 years old and freaked out. Way too young to be having a child, but I wouldn't change a thing nor give it up for the world.

3. I tried being a vegetarian for a while it lasted for about a year, until I came back from a camping trip starving and the first food place in site was a burger king! Ever since then I've been a carnivore.

4. I love popping zits! haha, gross! I know!

5. I think about death a lot. I've had a few close friends die and it's just on the brain a lot I guess. I don't see myself living to be an old age. I am 23 years old.

6. I'm stealing this tidbit from the lovely lady who tagged me, check her etsy shop out at http://busterandboo.etsy.com, I am not in love with my dayjob anymore. I am a graphic designer. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the job and am lucky to be there having no 'formal' education, but I have a hard time getting motivated, especially for boring things such as the 'arrow tuning guide' *gags* I'd love to sit at home all day, drink my coffee and clay all day. I just can't afford it.

Now I've got to find people to tag. Hmmm etsy forums anyone?? hehe.

Alzheimers Auction

Hello! Sorry I haven't written for a few days. Life gets crazier every day. But damn, I sure as hell am one blessed person. I wont go into detail on that, but I've been thinking about it more and more every day. It's good to be me. :) Even though life throws it's share of obstacles my way I just TRY and keep thinking that it's all worth it. Good 'ol HF wouldn't throw anything my way that I couldn't handle, even if I think I can't. I like to refer to it as being thrown under the bus. That's what it feels like sometimes.


Well, I'm excited to announce that me and my dad, have been asked to paint an artist pallett for the Alzheimers Association auction. All of the pallette's will be displayed, moved around to another viewing area, displayed, and so on once everyone has had a chance to view them they'll be auctioned off. I'm really stoked to be part of this because my grandpa had Alzheimer's and the moneys earned from the auction will go to benefit the association. That's even cooler to me personally because it could very well be my future, my childrens, or people in my family's future that it will be benefiting.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. :)

My Etsy Shop is Open!!

I'm so excited to share my creations with the world! Really my whole reasoning for opening the shop is to break even on supplies, and pay for shipping to get the items out to the people who order them.

I haven't made any sells yet, although I'm confident it will happen some day. I talked to someone on etsy, a seller of course, and she told me that she's had her shop open for quite a while now and is just now selling things. Really I think that's coincidental.. Your items selling depend on what people want, your prices, quality, and ease of shopping and use of your store. So who's to say if my shop has all these things...? The customers, and time will tell.

Please check it out, also tell all your friends to check it out. Who knows, if they don't like something I have, maybe they'll find something else on the site they love just as well.

Hand-Made 2

Hello Readers, if there are any readers of this blog, I am very excited to introduce to you some of my recent creations.

One pair I made for my big sis (The turquoise spiral, lovingly titled 'Spring Fever' earrings, pictured below.) Everything on my jewelery is hand-made, some beads, crystals, silver adornments, and other findings are purchased from the craft store.

I'm in the process of setting up my Etsy store. I'm just waiting for my Debit card to arrive in the mail (needed to 'prevent fraud' they say.) Anyway, I hope you enjoy these pieces. They are for sale if anyone is interested, just contact me for pricing and shipping info. I will post up a link to my Etsy store as soon as I have it setup. Questions, comments, and constructive criticism are welcome as always.

Ok, I'm about to post a lot of pictures, crossing fingers that this doesn't crash.

Below are the earrings I made for my sis. The turquoise spiral is hand made from polymer clay, both include sterling silver ear hooks, for sensitive ears, also sterling silver chain and jump rings, with glass beads and a swarovski crystal butterflies. Approximately 2.5'' long, very light weight. So much fun! I call them 'Spring Fever', I'm really missing the sun and being warm. These earrings just bring me into spring and make me warm and fuzzy inside. I hope she likes them, and really wears them! (forgive the photography, I'll take more using better technique later.)



BELOW: These BEAUTIES are called: "Music Blooms", they consist of A Bass clef and a Treble note, and two tiny, yet detailed rose, and pastel purple colored flowers. All these charms are hand-made out of polymer clay with sterling silver components. There is one crystal dew drop on each of the lower flowers. Approximately 3'' long, very light weight. Super dangly, super hot!





BELOW: Another fun pair of earrings. I've always been a fan of video games, and these are a tribute to one of the best all time video/arcade games ever created! "Mr. and Mrs. Packman" (These ones are a work in progress.. I'm going to be changing the color of bead in the silver drops from red, to blue. Also, please forgive the shotty photography on these ones.) Handmade out of poly. clay, sterling silver, and glass components.








*Now for the more silly and playful side of my personal jewelry making. Not only do I make earrings, but I make charms, necklaces, and bracelets. Below I've posted some pictures of some of the charms I've made, they're fun and flirty. (All HAND-MADE out of polymer clay with sterling silver components for sensitive skin.)

^ Above is a picture of a whole charm necklace in action. (as it would look on neck) I think the chain is about 18 inches long. I'd need to verify that though.


^This above shot it to show the charms in more detail. I can put more or less on a necklace, or any kind of custom charm. You name it, I will make it.

^the left charm is a sugar skull, from the Mexican 'Day of the dead' I love making these, not one will ever be made the same as tradition in Mexico. ^The right charm is...well.. it's either a ghost or a sperm.. he's a happy little guy, that much is for sure. :)


^Left charm is an impulsively made 'Scooby Snack', middle is a sub-par elephant (I'm gonna make one perfect one day, not just like the one pictured above, but close), and right charm is a pop-tart. Nummy!


^There's the pop tart again. This picture is mainly to illustrate the detail in the Poo charm and the T.P. Both are smiling.


^And last but not least, there is a small yellow bird 'tweet' and a hot pink sugar skull. No matter how many ways I took this picture it always came out looking hot orange/red, but it is in fact fluorescent pink with yellow, purple, and orange details. All my hand-made charms, and jewelery are glazed twice with a satin glaze for sheen and durability. I like it because it gives the clay a plastic-y feel when you want it, sometimes I do not glaze my items if I want them to have a matte finish.


^This is my first attempt at a bangle bracelet, again, using polymer clay. Click on the photo for a more detailed view! This thing is awesome, it has inlaid swirls, dots, and hearts. Yellow, orange, purple and white. Glazed twice with a satin glaze for sheen and durability.

Welcome to my first weekly post of ''Pictures of the Week''!!!

Let me start by saying I'm feeling very inspired today. I'm really in the mood to create something so maybe I'll finish making Triston's turquoise earrings. (I'll post pix when finished) Also, let me explain the pictures of the week posts I'll be doing. (I'm not sure that it needs explaining, but I will anyway.) The posts will be mainly of pictures I've taken that current week. There will also be random ramblings to each post (like this you're reading now) but that simply cannot be helped. This week 02/25 - 03/02 I have 3 in particular I feel like sharing. Njoy.

BEWARE, random opinionated post below (Read at own risk)

So today was pretty average. Wake up tired (after you've slept 8 hours, pretty restful sleep, aren't you usually supposed to wake up refreshed? I'm always tired when I wake up.) get ready for the day, I'm working from home today since my daycare lady decided to take the day off. Fortunately I have the luxury to do that now. I bought a mac book pro 15' with my tax returns!! I've wanted one since I first used my dad's and finally made a good financial decision and bought one. ($2500) yeah I know it's a lot of money but I didn't want to buy a lesser model and have to buy another notebook later. This one will be the one I have tell it dies. I'm using it now. :) anyway, I was going to the grocery store with TeeJay and we passed by this house (pic below) it had a giant bear made of snow in the yard, as tall as the freaking house. I'm suprised because it doesn't seem like we got enough snow to make such a creation.

Also, last weekend I had an old friend come visit. He's from San Diego, CA. He's in the Marines and he came by before he gets deployed. He's going to Iraq in March. I worry about the kid because he's a little bit of an air head.. Don't get me wrong he's smart and the Marines are very lucky to have him on board. Anyway, I feel a little like I'm talking smack on a friend of mine and that's not cool. Here's a pic of him, with T on his shoulders at my apartment.


















She really liked him and it was very nice to see him. I hope it's not the last time I'll see him. He's going to be gone for 2 years. Training the Iraq police and military how to use the weapons. I don't want to sound racist but I have this gut feeling that some of the people that join over-seas are just joining to be on the ''inside'' That doesn't make since. Let me explain. I think that some will join, whether it's the police or the military, make alliances and form bonds and loyalties, just pretending to do so. I think that some possibly will have alternate motives. You hear about suicide bombings and things like that happening in the mid east all the time, who's to say that terrorists aren't joining the military over-seas just to cause damage to the progress that's being made there? I also believe that many of the Iraqi people are joining because they're for change, and want to see their children, and grand-children enjoy freedom, the same freedoms we enjoy and take advantage of every day. I don't know weather I'm for, or against the war. One thing I do know is that I think we (America) need to finish what we've started. I definitely don't want other countries thinking that they can come over here and start some crap and we'll not do anything about it, or that they can do said terrorist acts to our country and we'll maybe start something, and not finish it. Jeez I really worry about the future of my daughter, and her children, provided the world lasts long enough for her to have kids. I mean, could you imagine not being able to enjoy the freedoms we do now?? Even just going to the grocery store. Having to worry about being shot, or riding the bus and having it blow up as you pull the cord to stop at your destination.

I really do take so many things for granted every day. We all do, I think, but I'm just going to speak for myself. I remember Triston doing this thing with her friends a long time ago. Where every day they would think of something they were grateful for, or something that they take for granted, something as simple as your thumbs... Anyway, they'd pick one thing, like their left arm and not use it for an entire day. It's amazing to me. I wish I could think like that all the time. There are those times, and I'm sure everyone can relate, when I think about the whole scheme of things, life, death, etc.. and I get inspired and for that day, or for a few hours I really try to be kind to others, call my mom and tell her I love her, or a friend I havn't talked to for a long time, donate money to a good cause, etc... that type of thing, but I always go back to the average, I get caught up in the hustle and bustle of every day life and loose sight, even if just for a moment, of what's really important in life. So I know that's probably one of the most random blogs, but that's generally the reason I signed up for this blog, not only to blog with family (I have no friends on here, only family) but as sort of an in-personal journal. I'd never post up my most precious and personal thoughts and secrets online. Yeah Right!! But this I will be posting some semi personal thoughts and whatnot on this blog. Lots of pictures. I've decided to put in pictures every blog I post. I gotta run. Sorry for the randomness. Maybe I'll rename the title of this post to ''BEWARE, random opinionated post below'' currently it's titled ''Today--'' I'll do that.

Hand-Made

Hello Friends and Family! So let me start by saying that (Triston was right) this blog thing is addicting.

Alright, now that I've gotten that out of the way lets get to the down and diiirty.

I discovered this site a little while ago. I added an enclosed link to the site. You can join the site (I think for free) and post things that you've made by hand and sell them. Yes! For real dollars! So, as all my friends and family know I'm a art bug, anything art I'm on it aside from sewing, knitting, that type of stuff. Don't get me wrong though I'd love to be able to do that, I'm sure I could if I just applied myself, but I mostly do paintings (more so on the computer now than real paint and canvas), drawings, and now my latest artistic venture polymer clay. You all have seen it I'm sure. It's that Sculpey® stuff or Fimo clay. I made a really cool dragon out of the stuff a while back and realized that I can clay! So, my point of all this is, why not mix something I love aka art, painting, drawing, clay, etc.. and make money doing it? I already make money doing art all day as a Graphic Designer, but this is more a labor of love. Anyway, I went to the craft store a few weeks ago and got myself a GRIP of polymer clay and have been making charms, earrings, jewelery, or just plain anything I find and think of.

Last night I made these little beauties. (pix below) I'm going to get an arsenal of charms and other stuff made and then setup a profile on www.etsy.com. I'll sell them reasonably priced at first and see how the selling goes. At least to where I break even on supplies.

Anyway, I'm super stoked about these earrings I made and I think they're pretty damn good. Check them out. If anyone wants me to make them something I'd be happy to, FREE OF CHARGE, while I'm getting started anyway. Ideas, input, and constructive criticism is encouraged. Thanks!

Kee-Kee aka Keekers

One day me and TeeJay came home from work and school to find this baby girl sitting at the top of the stairs. It was one of those blizzard-ie days and it was FREEZING outside so I brought it in. My roommate -had- a cat so I got Kee-Kee some water and food and we let her stay the night since the weather was bad. We can't afford to take care of a cat right now so we weren't able to keep her, but I love her dearly and miss her like the dickens. We took her to the humane society the following evening and I received a phone call a few days later saying that she was being adopted. (I had requested to be informed if she was or was not adopted. Because I would have taken her in, weather I could financially or not, than see her euthanized.) That made me happy. Here are some pictures of the freaking adorable, Kee-Kee aka Keekers. I like this first shot (hence putting it first) hehe, funny stuff.

So The Corsetti/Roylance family has a blog now.
